Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor PRN

Overview Registered Nurse (RN), House Supervisor – PRNS Schedule: 3 – 12 hour shifts. Job Location: In Person. About our team Sovah Health – Danville is a 250‑bed academic community hospital and the region’s only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The hospital offers comprehensive surgical services, emergency care, home health & hospice, cardiac services, oncology services, and more. Responsibilities Assess the acuity of care required by patients and implement staffing plans for each shift based on patient acuity, census, and available staff. Lead the patient‑care team on the designated shift; complete leadership rounds; assess patient care requirements on each unit; make patient/room/bed assignments when on duty. Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems and for identifying and/or solving administrative/operational problems. Provide follow‑up, documentation, and communication of incidents to the appropriate manager/director; report significant incidents and problems to the administrator on‑call. Handle staff discipline while on duty; monitor staff performance, offer solutions to improve performance. Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols. Qualifications Current VA RN license (or compact state). Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous 2 years of experience in an acute hospital setting required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire.
