Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Intervention Specialist
- Newark, Ohio
- Assignment Dates: August 17, 2025 – May 27, 2027
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day
Position Overview
We are seeking five qualified Intervention Specialists to join our team in Newark, OH. These roles support diverse student populations across elementary and high school settings, with multiple classroom models available. Candidates are encouraged to indicate their preferred assignment and grade level when applying.
Open Positions
- Elementary Self-Contained Classrooms
- High School Co-Teaching Classrooms
- Moderate/Intensive (MD) Self-Contained Classroom
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with varying needs
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to student learning goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist licensure (or eligibility)
- Experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in self-contained or co-teaching environments
- Experience working with moderate to intensive (MD) populations
- Familiarity with IEP development and compliance requirements

Full-time position for the full school year (2025–2027 assignment period)
