Sr. Manager, Clinical Process Engineer

AbbVie seeks a Senior Manager, Clinical Process Engineer to lead design, optimization, and sustainment of clinical business processes across multiple functional domains. The role requires significant independence in driving cross-functional alignment, translating complex business challenges into process solutions, and shaping how process engineering work operates within Clinical Development Operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end process design and optimization across multiple clinical domains simultaneously with minimal direction
• Develop and govern process maps, work instructions, and documentation standards ensuring consistency and scalability
• Conduct comprehensive current-state assessments and multi-variable analyses to identify systemic issues and improvement opportunities
• Design and lead complex process workshops across multi-stakeholder environments, managing competing interests and escalations
• Define process performance frameworks, recommend KPIs, and present improvement recommendations to functional leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification required
• Minimum 7 years of process design, process engineering, or process improvement experience in regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of clinical development operations, regulatory expectations, and inspection readiness
• Expert proficiency in process mapping, documentation methods, and scalable process artifact development
• Proven ability to lead multi-stakeholder workshops and drive cross-functional alignment under ambiguity
• Advanced analytical skills including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and data-driven strategic recommendations
