Lead Mechanical Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work in Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.


Responsibilities:
• Support facilities engineering, maintenance, and operations at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.
• Provides mechanical engineering expertise for facility projects including planning, design, construction, operations, and quality assurance.
• Provides support in areas such as planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, inspections, and test witnessing for contractor performed facility work.
• Coordinate with project managers, operations specialists, and stakeholders to identify conditions, document requirements, and communicate project status.
• Ensure compliance with NASA, federal, state, and local regulations and facility standards.
• Support configuration management, drawing updates, and facility documentation control.

Qualifications Required:
• 7+ years of experience in construction management.
• Prior experience in mechanical design and facility project management.
• Possess strong technical and leadership skills.

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering.
• A Professional Engineer Certificate is preferred, but not required.

Clearance Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
• NASA may require a Public Trust, so you must be eligible to obtain one.

Travel Requirements:
• Occasional travel within the United States may be required.


The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
