Lead Mechanical Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work in Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
Responsibilities:
• Support facilities engineering, maintenance, and operations at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.
• Provides mechanical engineering expertise for facility projects including planning, design, construction, operations, and quality assurance.
• Provides support in areas such as planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, inspections, and test witnessing for contractor performed facility work.
• Coordinate with project managers, operations specialists, and stakeholders to identify conditions, document requirements, and communicate project status.
• Ensure compliance with NASA, federal, state, and local regulations and facility standards.
• Support configuration management, drawing updates, and facility documentation control. Qualifications Required:
• 7+ years of experience in construction management.
• Prior experience in mechanical design and facility project management.
• Possess strong technical and leadership skills. Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering.
• A Professional Engineer Certificate is preferred, but not required. Clearance Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
• NASA may require a Public Trust, so you must be eligible to obtain one. Travel Requirements:
• Occasional travel within the United States may be required.
The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This posting will be renewed periodically until the position is filled.
