SUMMARY OF POSITION

The CMM Operator has the responsibility to assist in inspection and reporting of critical features for tool acceptance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Create inspection reports based off customer flow down of quality deliverables
• Document and retain records of the final inspection and shipment of tooling
• Apply hand checks utilizing micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Maintain and operate manual and DCC coordinate measuring machines
• Support tool alignment, setting, and measurement confirmation
• Provide guidance to key personnel based on findings
• Any additional duties reasonably assigned by management

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

• Minimum five (5) years of related experience required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals
• Has extensive knowledge of GD&T, CMMs, and other measurement equipment
• Ability to use manual inspection equipment i.e. Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gages, etc.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry
• Experience in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project
• Strong troubleshooting aptitude and inquisitive nature
• Proven common-sense approach and ability to autonomously carry out regimented tasks and actions
• Has extensive knowledge of customer and industry standards and specifications
• Previous experience in the aerospace industry
• Experience advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the organization
• Understanding of CNC machines and shop repair techniques, welding, bushings, assembly
• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Internal auditing experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• May access and work in the manufacturing plant
• While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles
• The employee may be exposed to vibration
• The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day
• May be required to work overtime and/or weekends to meet department and business demands
• Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
• Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
