We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a nonprofit organization’s finance team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment, and a solid understanding of GAAP. Experience with NetSuite is a huge plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
\n
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
\n
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
\n
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and expense coding.
\n
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal financial reports.
\n
• Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
\n
• Support annual audit preparation by gathering schedules, documentation, and supporting materials.
\n
• Assist with budget tracking, expense analysis, and financial reporting as needed.
\n
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
\n
• Collaborate with finance team members and other departments to ensure timely and accurate accounting operations.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\n
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
\n
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
\n
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred, including familiarity with fund accounting, grants, or restricted funds.
\n
• NetSuite experience is a huge plus.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting systems.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
\n
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
