Senior Director/VP, Fintech Communications

About the Role Mission North is a strategic communications agency working with fintech, payments, investment, and real‑estate brands. We seek a Senior Director/VP to lead and grow our Fintech Practice, overseeing segments such as investment, payments, real estate, and other financial services. Responsibilities Client retention and portfolio growth, including product and service evolution. Staff development and management, mentoring staff across all levels. Collaboration with peers overseeing other Financial Services accounts to set and achieve group goals. Trusted strategic partner to client communications, marketing, and content contacts and their executive teams. Set and plan against revenue goals, talent development, agency marketing, lead generation, and new business development for the Financial Services practice group. Drive new business efforts with minimal oversight, overseeing pitch teams from start to finish. Generate new revenue with existing clients by aligning scope of work to meet client needs. Work with specialists to deliver integrated programs combining PR, digital, and social media. Serve as steward of Mission North’s values and operating principles. Represent Mission North and clients at industry events for networking and professional development. Qualifications 10‑12 years of PR agency or in‑house experience with banking, payments, investment, or real‑estate tech brands. Experience managing relationships with C‑level executives at tech companies. Strong network of potential talent, partners, and customers to support practice and business growth. Experience helping clients navigate sensitive reputation issues and crisis communications. Compelling communication and presentation skills. Exceptional creative and content development skills on technical topics. Strong new‑business development skills with a proven track record of closing and retaining clients. Experience leading strategic workshops and initiatives including messaging, storyline development, thought‑leadership platform development, and media training. Proven track record of directing multiple teams at PR/communications agencies and/or in‑house communications functions. Strong management skills and a genuine interest in mentoring teams. Thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities. Bonus: experience in public affairs and advocacy, financial communications, and/or investor relations.
