Manager of Market Intelligence

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Manager of Market Intelligence who will develop and deliver market, economic, and competitive insights that help guide executive decisions, long-term planning, and business development. This role leads complex research and market assessment work, translates findings into clear business implications, and develops executive-level reports and presentations. The Manager works closely with the Senior Manager of Market Intelligence and leaders across Mortenson to support informed decision-making. RESPONSIBILITIESLead market assessments and research aligned with strategic business needsDevelop executive-level insights on market, economic, and competitive dynamicsCollaborate with leaders to integrate market perspectives into planningAnalyze economic trends and construction-specific indicatorsMonitor and interpret competitor strategies and market shiftsAssess industry consolidation and M&A activityAnalyze public company earnings reports and investor materials for relevant market signalsConduct quantitative and qualitative research to evaluate markets and opportunitiesDevelop executive-level reports and presentationsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Market Research, or related fieldMinimum 5-7 years in market intelligence, market research, consulting, industry analysis, or related workExperience leading complex research initiatives and presenting to senior leadershipStrong business judgement and ability to connect market signals to business implicationsSkilled in quantitative and qualitative research and synthesis of multiple information sourcesExperience with market assessments, competitive intelligence, economic analysis, or industry researchAdvanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, market research platforms and subscriptions, AI-driven tools, and collaboration tools; adaptability in learning new technologies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive audiencesStrong listening skills and openness to diverse feedbackUnderstanding of construction industry dynamics, trends, and regulationsCurrent driver's licenseAbility to travel up to 10%A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $105,300 - $158,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Please make note: Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days.
