We are hiring a Demand Planning Manager to join our team!  

Job Type:  Full Time 

What You'll do:
Manage daily operational activities in the distribution center including warehousing, delivery, maintenance, and administrative functions, consistent with high standards and service commitments, in a cost effective and safe manner.  Ensure warehouse associates comply with company policies and procedures.  Exercise judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.  Provide direct supervision to warehouse associates, lead warehouse associates, and warehouse supervisors.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below are encompassing of the DC Manager, but not limited to these areas:

• Manage distribution center operations including warehouse, transportation, material handling, inventory control, direct through stock (DTS) and safety.
• Establish goals and guidelines intended to improve warehouse methods and procedures, work requirements and schedules, distribution quality, safety and operating costs.
• Provide direction and guidance over Distribution Center operations to ensure the accuracy, timely receipt, stocking of Company merchandise, timely picking and shipping of goods, an engaged workforce and an acceptable level of high-quality performance is achieved.
• Work with leaders of other Branches to ensure best practices and create continuous process improvement.
• Coordinate with supervisors, inventory control supervisor, shift leads, maintenance, and administrative associates in their day-to-day activities.
• Provide ongoing training to Warehouse Associates and Warehouse Supervisors for support of safe, efficient, error free operations.
• Manage hiring, training, coaching, and developing of warehouse, maintenance, and administrative associates.
• Implement succession planning for self and other critical roles on the team.
• Monitor daily workflow, productivity, accuracy, and error rates across on shift for efficiency, consistency, and quality of operations.
• Partner with Regional Sales Managers/Branch Managers to ensure company service offerings (like Pro Logistics Supply) are managed successfully and efficiently.
• Work with inventory control to minimize on-hand balance problems, maintain stock locations, and conduct yearly physical inventory.
• Ensure staff/facility comply with all company and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Monitor established safety programs for compliance using Company requirements and Occupational Safety Health Administration regulations.
  • Direct maintenance and monitoring of housekeeping standards to promote safe and efficient operations and directs changes and updates where necessary and needed.
• Keep the network informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinate/communicate plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
• Support corporate operations through planning and involvement with all managers.

Skills/Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks
• Bilingual desired (English/Spanish)
• Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of Company personnel and outside vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency in computer skills
• Ability to handle pressure
• Experience/knowledge of warehouse equipment and machines
• Strong people skills with the ability to relate to other departments' needs and concerns while still being able to accomplish the Company's goals.
• Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Successfully demonstrate negotiation agreements with outside vendors and partners.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn and enforce DOT rules and regulations.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and enforce policy and procedures and relate them to others.
• Strong managerial and leadership skills, ability to motivate team and manage conflict.
• Supervisory skills-ability to manage staffing, performance review decisions, mentor and supervise development of staff.

Minimum work experience requirements:

• At least 10 years of related distribution/warehouse experience in a high-volume distribution environment.
• Prior experience effectively working across organizations from all functions and overseeing multiple locations.
• Prior experience in using LEAN tools and processes to ensure efficiency of operations.
• Demonstrated strong planning and forecasting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the on-schedule receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping of Company products.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of systems, processes, products, and market knowledge preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required; some travel required.

Required Experience:

• College degree or equivalent work experience required

Physical Demands: 

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.  Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.  Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands. 

Work Environment:

The warehouse consists primarily of rows of large upright racks on a hard surface flooring.  Most work is performed on pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.  The RDC will have climate control features to account for seasonal weather with an emphasis on sustainability.
