Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position requiring Level I Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma hospital
• Unit has 14 rooms and 16 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating required to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• ICP monitoring skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to trauma ICU patients including respiratory, cardiac, and neurological cases
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for the travel rate
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
• Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to starting the assignment
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
