Payroll Specialist
We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Payroll Specialist in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the processing of biweekly and monthly payrolls for 1200 to 2,000 employees located in various states. Payroll processing includes reconciliation of earnings, deductions, and taxes, running audit reports and submitting reconciliations to management for review and approval.
· Work with managers to ensure that the worked time for non-exempt employees is approved by the established deadline.
· Payroll Input as needed.
· Payroll Tax Adjustments and company reclasses.
· Process On Demand Payments & Manual payments as needed.
· Process EIB Loads
· Run/audit Payroll Integrations.
· Tax and Payment elections set-ups/audits.
· W2 Corrections as needed
· Garnishment/Tax Levy Set-ups.
· Stuffing and distribution of payroll checks and pay slips.
· Manage Case Management and the Payroll Help Line - Assist Human Resources, Benefits, and employees with payroll related questions.
Requirements:
· 2 years corporate payroll process experience
· General knowledge of payroll principles including overtime and tax withholding calculations.
· Able to work Overtime when needed.
· Must be willing to work in the office during the training period and as needed.
· Process daily garnishment files from ADP.
· Process weekly garnishment disbursement files to ADP.
· File multi-state reports.
· Work with ADP to resolve issues for tax and garnishments.
· Interact with Federal, state, and local tax agencies.
· File amended tax returns including W2Cs.
· Research and analysis on a variety of Federal, state, and local tax matters.
· Complete tax projections and forecast reports
Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Location: Houston, TX 77046
Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $27.50 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
