Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience - At least 1 year of progressive care unit experience License: - Valid nursing license Certifications: - BLS - ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with telemetry monitoring - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias Description: This position involves caring for adults and geriatric patients. The unit primarily focuses on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The goal staffing ratio is 1:4, but it can also be 1:5 depending on unit needs. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit requirements. Travelers may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both shifts. Staff members must adhere to strict infection prevention protocols. There is a heavy focus on patient falls prevention. Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration is required. PICC line management and peripheral line care will be part of the responsibilities. Telemetry monitoring and use of rapid response teams is expected. Candidates should have experience with computerized charting systems. Candidates must be aware of compliance regarding credentialing processes. References from previous supervisors or managers are required.
