Transform Lives Through the Power of Communication in Enchanting New Orleans – Become Our Speech Language Pathologist
Have you ever considered the magic of connecting through communication? Step into a role where as a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant culture of New Orleans, you will do much more than treat speech and swallowing disorders. You will ignite the voices of individuals, boost their confidence, and foster connections that transcend age and background—from the delightful laughter of children speaking their first words to seniors rediscovering their independence.
This position is not just another job; it's an extraordinary opportunity to impact lives across all age groups, in an environment that merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric speech development, adult cognitive-linguistic challenges, or geriatric communication rehabilitation, here you'll find a harmonious blend of passion and flexibility.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and elderly populations, utilizing standardized assessments along with observational methods.
Create individualized therapy plans tailored to meet both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Implement focused speech therapy sessions that enhance communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills.
Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to craft coordinated care strategies.
Provide education for patients and their families to facilitate progress in daily life beyond the therapy room.
Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies to maintain a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
Ensure prompt and precise documentation in accordance with state, federal, and agency requirements.
Keep updated with the latest advances in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is desirable.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based clinical practices for all age groups, with a solid understanding of a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Ability to modify therapy interventions to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance documentation.
Attractive salary packages aligned with experience.
Flexible scheduling to promote a healthy work-life balance along with diverse caseload opportunities.
Possibilities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage options.
Financial support for continuing education and professional development initiatives.
A collaborative and supportive work environment that emphasizes high-quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That Moves with You – and Moves You
In this position, you'll be more than a speech therapist; you'll join a passionate community devoted to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and uncovering moments of joy through understanding. Together, we'll celebrate the triumphs of every patient, as each one holds a unique narrative that deserves to be expressed.
You'll be surrounded by dedicated professionals who view each other as more than colleagues—they are family. In our collaborative setting, competition takes a backseat to camaraderie, allowing every patient's story to take center stage as you help them find their voice.
