Associate Director, U.S. Ethics & Compliance Advisor, Medical Affairs

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Director of U.S. Ethics & Compliance Advisor for Medical Affairs to provide compliance expertise, build integrated compliance programs across the U.S. Medical Organization, and lead a team. The hybrid role in Foster City, California reports to the Senior Director and requires extensive healthcare compliance and in-house industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise Medical Affairs on ethics and compliance standards, reviewing activities for alignment with policies
• Partner across Legal, Commercial, Medical, and Clinical Development to integrate compliance program into U.S. Medical Organization
• Develop and deliver training on ethics and compliance to enhance stakeholder understanding
• Identify healthcare compliance risks and support mitigation control implementation
• Lead, inspire, and foster high-performance culture while developing and mentoring team members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years' experience, or Master's degree and 8 years' experience, or PhD and 2 years' experience
• 7-9+ years of compliance experience in biotech, pharma, or highly regulated industries
• Management experience with ability to mentor and supervise professional teams
• Juris Doctorate or fully qualified legal credentials preferred
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• In-house experience preferred over law firm advisory background

Compensation: $182,070–$235,620 base
