Job Title Instrumentation Coordinator - Dublin Department Ambulatory Services | Dublin Central Sterile Scope of Position An Instrumentation Coordinator prepares, sterilizes, installs, assembles, and cleans all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The Coordinator ensures that equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely, preventing infections, and that sterilized, aseptically packaged medical supplies and instrumentation are delivered to the point of use. This role serves as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS off‑site location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise, and is responsible for procuring and standardizing instrument trays throughout the network. The position is utilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same‑Day Surgery, University Hospital East, and all ambulatory sites. Position Summary Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow through case cart assembly, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization/high‑level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory. Assist in projects and process improvement, promoting customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with operating room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center. Also responsible for ordering, procuring, and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise. Responsibilities Coordinate case flow between operating rooms and sterile processing, assemble and decontaminate surgical carts, sterilize instrumentation, maintain inventory records, and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Serve as a clinical liaison to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise and procure standardized instrument trays. Participate in process‑improvement projects and promote customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with clinical staff. Qualifications High school graduate or GED. At least one year experience as an instrument processor or surgical technologist. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required upon hire, or must obtain certification within six months. Proficient in Microsoft Office, TECHSYS, and Censitrac tracking; capable of learning additional software and/or hardware. Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, leadership, adaptability, and problem‑solving ability.
