Job Summary The Financial Analyst in the Gain & Loss Department is responsible for maintaining basis records and providing Gain/Loss reporting for assets held in MS Wealth Management customer accounts. This role involves resolving branch inquiries related to Gain/Loss account maintenance, 1099-B reporting, reconciliation discrepancies, and cost basis reporting. Analysts provide educational and regulatory insight while ensu ring accurate manual adjustments when required. Key Responsibilities A nswer and resolve branch inquiries on Gain/Loss topics, including account maintenance and reporting Provide guidance on 1099-B reporting and regulatory requirements Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies Deliver educational support to branch teams regarding cost basis reporting Perform manual adjustments to ensure accurate reporting Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and ensure compliance with operational deadlines Required Qualifications B achelor’s Degree in a Business-related field Experience in the financial industry Strong understanding of general accounting principles as applied to financial services Knowledge of process controls and proficiency with database and spreadsheet applications Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and other Office applications Superior oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Ex perience with data modeling and financial reporting systems Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment Certifications No ne required; relevant financial or accounting certifications are a plus Education: Bachelors Degree
