Job Summary The Housekeeping Associate III is responsible for the general appearance of resilient floor and carpeted surfaces in corridor, patient rooms, public areas, offices, treatment rooms and other areas deemed necessary by supervisor. Performs terminal cleaning of Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Intensive Care Unit, Electro Physiology Labs, Labor & Delivery Rooms, Labor & Delivery Operating Room, Recovery Pre-holding, Behavioral Health Units and assigned areas in accordance with standard departmental procedures and hospital objectives. Performs stripping and waxing of floors, other floor tech responsibilities, and completes established competencies within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods. Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness; have repairs made when necessary. Observe and report the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. Apply proper infection control practices and isolation techniques. Perform other assigned tasks. Account for cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas; ensure schedule is complete and instructions from supervisors are followed. Utilize tools, supplies and chemicals for their intended purposes to avoid damage to equipment and hospital property. Use good judgment and proper procedures in the performance of assigned tasks. Support the mission and vision of the Baptist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. Understand and enforce system, departmental and hospital policies and procedures as well as established rules and regulations. Train in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department/work unit or facilitate flexible staffing assignments. Comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; utilize appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and consult supervisors prior to job performance if there is a question regarding safe procedure. Demonstrate ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑service oriented environment and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Complete assignments independently and work as part of a team; take instructions from supervisors; exercise problem‑solving skills; interact with co‑workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner. Communicate appropriately to other employees and customers based on the situation and the age level of the person. Perform all essential job functions while on duty. Qualifications High School Graduate or GED, or equivalent 3 years of full‑time work experience in Environment Services. Able to read, write and understand English. Minimum 3 years of cleaning experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting with terminal cleaning experience.
