AP Specialist

An Accounts Payable Specialist handles the day-to-day financial transactions related to paying vendors and suppliers. This role ensures invoices are accurate, payments are processed efficiently, and records are properly maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
• Prepare and process electronic transfers, checks, and payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues and payment status
• Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Track expenses and monitor accounts to ensure timely payments

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (often preferred)
• Proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with ERP systems
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance (e.g., 1099 reporting in the U.S.)
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments
