Job Description
The Legal Assistant will provide vital support to a solo practitioner specializing in immigration law. This role involves preparing legal documents, conducting research, managing client communications, and assisting with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, regularly participating in court appearances and client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft legal documents related to immigration cases
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy
- Manage client communications promptly and professionally
- Organize and maintain case files accurately
- Assist with trial preparation and related activities
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and client meetings
- Oversee case management in the absence of dedicated software
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a legal assistant in the field of Immigration Law
- Proficiency in legal document drafting and legal research
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
