Position Overview
As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Medical Telemetry , your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued and encouraged at every level. Role Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and coordinating all activities within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC oversees, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They also serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing the patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engages in the continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with management team members.
- Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
- Embraces a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
- Helps maintain proper inventory control and assists in managing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.

Our facility is a 200+ bed acute-care center located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and advanced cardiac care through our Heart Hospital. Patients can also access rehabilitation services, women’s health, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement, and orthotics at this facility.
