Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting students with special needs in a diverse school environment near Denver, CO. These contract positions start August 11 and extend through May 2027, offering opportunities to work in elementary or high school settings. Flexibility is essential, as assignments may vary and reassignments to different sites and age groups can occur.
Required Qualifications:
- At least one full year of experience in special education classrooms
- Significant/severe caseload experience strongly preferred
- Two completed professional RefAssured references must be submitted with your application—candidates without these will not be considered
- Ability to arrive at assigned school by required start times (7:40am for elementary, 8:00am for middle/high)
- Must have reliable, personal transportation (bus, Uber, taxi, etc. are not sufficient)
- Willingness to assist students with toileting and diapering if needed
- Immediate fingerprinting required post-offer; any felony or misdemeanor charges will disqualify candidates
- Must submit location with application
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with individual learning and behavioral needs under the direction of special education teachers
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment, ensuring safety and engagement for all students
- Collaborate with educational staff and adapt to changing classroom assignments
- Provide direct assistance to students, which may include physical support and personal care
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families as needed
