Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a focus on orthopedic, surgical oncology, general surgery, GYN surgery, and OMFS patient populations
Monitor and manage telemetry patients;

administration of drips is required
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 on nights (ratios of 1:7 may occur on rare occasions based on staffing needs)
Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units, including potential float to main campus
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs (where assigned)
Document all patient care using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN license required; pending license accepted, though confirmed start date will be scheduled six weeks out if license is not in hand at time of submission)
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting (first-time travelers not accepted; exceptions considered for candidates with 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center)
EPIC charting experience required
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Must be prepared to float frequently to meet hospital staffing needs
Preferred Experience / Skills

ACLS certification preferred
NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
CPI certification preferred
Experience in orthopedic, surgical oncology, or telemetry patient populations
