Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students as a Physical Therapist within an engaging school environment near Tacoma, WA. You’ll serve a vital role in helping children achieve developmental goals, working with a diverse caseload that includes the Early Learning Center and two additional school sites. This full-time, onsite position runs from ASAP through June 23, 2027, providing stability and meaningful impact as you collaborate with dedicated educational professionals.
In this role, you will:
- Provide physical therapy assessments and interventions to students in varied school settings
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that address functional mobility, motor skills, and adaptive strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with educators, paraprofessionals, and families
- Monitor progress, document student outcomes, and adjust therapy approaches as needed
- Consult with staff and families to support inclusion and promote student success in the school environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington state Physical Therapist license (required)
- Successful fingerprinting and background clearance through OSPI
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and support student-centered care
- Flexibility to travel between assigned school locations and adapt to changing caseload needs
