Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Sr. Transportation Engineer to join the Northern, IL Surface Transportation team. This is not a remote position. Here’s what you’ll do:Planning, design, and project management of moderate to complex transportation projects Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery Provide leadership in staff development and growth in our Northern, IL operationsDrive project development and pursue surface transportation-related work Engage clients, agencies and other professionals within the transportation engineering industryProject development and pursuit of surface transportation-related work Here is what you’ll need:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field4 years' experience minimum with an emphasis in roadway/highway geometric design, drainage, transportation planning, traffic engineering/corridor studies is desired, but not required Registered Professional Engineer in any state, or the ability to gain licensure in Illinois within one year Strong preference will be given to those with not only a technical understanding of delivering highway engineering projects but those that possess a complete understanding of delivering a quality and comprehensive product, program, or solution for our surface transportation clientsStrong knowledge of and experience using Microstation, Geopak, AutoCAD, Civil3D software packagesStrong technical, written, and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal and active listening skills Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasksAbility to work and lead in a team environment while mentoring staffAbility to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative and interact with a variety of people located in northern Illinois and other CMT offices Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork Ideally, you will also have:Previous leadership experienceGeometric design, drainage, transportation planning, traffic engineering/corridor studies, project management with IDOT is desiredExperience in business development and staff supervision Willingness to travel as neededValid driver’s license and acceptable driving recordPhysical Requirements: Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects. The expected compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 annually.
