Job Summary:

Performs activities associated with payroll generation, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accruals, overtime, and withholding status. Ensures compliance with government reporting requirements related to payroll taxes, withholding, and employer contributions.

Under the direction of the HR Processing Supervisor, the HR Processing Analyst is responsible for organizing, analyzing, validating, and entering Human Resources data transactions into the unified payroll database.

The position requires knowledge of Human Resources policies, rules, and procedures, as well as the ability to navigate and apply established data entry procedures within UCPath, the Transaction Processing System (TPS), and the Personnel Database (PDB).

The HR Processing Analyst critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicting information, researches inconsistencies, and ensures accurate and timely transaction processing to meet established system deadlines. The role also involves regular interaction with HR Generalists, Recruiters, and Managers, as well as assisting with the maintenance of personnel documents in the electronic filing system (eFile).

The HR Processing Analyst applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments, projects, and tasks of moderate scope and complexity. The position exercises judgment within established guidelines and practices to determine appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Sort, prioritize, and organize incoming forms based on payroll, benefits, and system processing deadlines; perform data entry for all Human Resources transactions.
• Review Human Resources forms, including MAF/PCMA, to ensure accuracy and compliance with Medical Center and University policies.
• Audit systems and databases to verify the accuracy and integrity of data entry.
• Consult with the supervisor, Human Resources staff, and department managers to clarify and correct incomplete, inconsistent, or problematic information submitted for processing.
• Identify and report issues with HRIS applications or processing instructions to the HRIS Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Assist with filing and maintaining personnel documents in the electronic personnel filing system (eFile).
• Review and determine appropriate HRIS codes and effective dates for Human Resources transactions.
• Support payroll-related activities, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accruals, overtime, and withholding status.
• Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing to meet established system deadlines.
• Apply applicable Human Resources policies, procedures, and organizational rules when reviewing and processing transactions.
• Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Working knowledge of payroll processes, policies, and procedures, as well as organization-specific computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to organize work effectively, establish priorities, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong problem-solving, problem-identification, and reasoning skills.
• Intermediate mathematical skills.
• Familiarity with web-based applications and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, preferably including PeopleSoft, Salesforce, TPS, CICS, Weblinks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of organizational processes and procedures, including an understanding of organizational rules and regulations.
• Experience with Oracle.
