Description

• Assess patients from infants to seniors using thorough evaluations and tailored observations.
• Create customized treatment strategies addressing immediate and long-term communication, cognition, or swallowing requirements.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
• Work collaboratively with occupational and physical therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and patients' families to ensure a unified care plan.
• Educate patients and families to encourage progress between therapy sessions.
• Assist with periodic inpatient evaluations and therapies to ensure uninterrupted care throughout recovery.
• Keep precise, timely records following state, federal, and organizational stipulations.
• Stay ahead of industry advancements through ongoing professional education and teamwork.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
