A construction organization in the North San Diego area is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This is a key accounting leadership role for a hands-on professional who understands construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, certified payroll, and financial statement preparation.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with ownership and play a direct role in financial operations, process accuracy, reporting, compliance, and overall business support. The work environment is best suited for someone who values stability, accountability, teamwork, and direct communication with leadership. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, HR-related accounting, billing, and collections.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and escrow account balances.
- Manage construction accounting functions, including WIP reporting, job costing, project financial reporting, certified payroll, and prevailing wage requirements.
- Coordinate with outside CPAs, banks, bonding companies, insurance providers, and outside agencies for reporting, renewals, audits, tax preparation, and compliance matters.
- Support contractor registrations, certifications, prequalification documentation, bond requests, insurance compliance, claims management, and minor tax filings.
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to ownership while supporting accounting and administrative staff as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Full-time, in-office position.
- Location: Poway, CA area.
- Salary range: $85,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
- 2 weeks paid vacation after the first year.

- 7 paid holidays.
