Land Surveyor (County Survey) Location: Oregon City, Oregon Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Compensation Effective July 1, 2026: Annual Pay Range: $99,061.31 - $125,009.44 Hourly Pay Range: $47.63 - $60.10 Job Responsibilities Review and approve surveys and plats prepared by private surveyors. Prepare or review internal surveys and legal descriptions. Assist with the Public Land Corner program through records research, field verification, and report writing. Develop sketches and histories for land corners used in USBT mapping. Maintain a library of property survey records and review all surveys and plats for compliance with Oregon Survey laws. Required Minimum Qualifications / Transferable Skills Valid and active registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in any U.S. state at hire. Minimum one year of related land development surveying experience. Experience with CADD software. Experience conducting research on survey and related property records. Experience locating, compiling, and organizing complex and historical survey data. Customer service experience with public and stakeholder interactions. Preferred Qualifications / Transferable Skills Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) registration in Oregon. Experience preparing plats and survey records per statutes, County Code, OAR, and professional standards. Experience with QA/QC responsibilities. Experience in public land corner restoration. Pre-Employment Requirements Pass a post‑offer physical assessment (accommodations available). Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for regular County business. Post-Employment Requirements Within six months of hire, register as a Professional Surveyor in Oregon and maintain an active license throughout employment. Work Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Specific hours will be negotiated with the selected candidate. Position is on‑site/in‑person at the County Survey Office. Working Conditions Field duties require walking, stepping, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, digging, and lifting up to 90 pounds. Exposure to uneven surfaces, noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, dust, and adverse weather. Benefits Competitive wages with cost‑of‑living adjustments and merit increases.
