This unique opportunity is 5 AM - 5 PM and will be scheduled 5 AM - 5 PM Sunday/Friday/Saturday. Although this team will be scheduled for 36 hours a week, employees on this team will be paid for a full 40 hours. There is also still opportunity for overtime./ppPosition Scope: Furnace Operators perform duties in connection with the remelting of metal for the die cast operation. This includes setting up, operating, loading, unloading, and monitoring of furnaces. Operator ensures compliance of furnace cycles by adjusting controls to maintain specified temperatures in furnaces per work instructions. This position requires high attention to safety for the handling of molten metal and high temperatures. Operators are required to operate forklifts to transport material used in or a product from furnace operations./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliFills remelt furnace at required weight limits with scrap and ingot./liliResponsible for maintaining cleanliness of remelt and holding furnaces and operation of flux machine./liliDetect and report improper conditions, faulty equipment and defective material to proper supervisor./liliRemoves scrap containers from cast and trim area./liliAbility to operate a forklift./liliDelivers molten metal to individual furnace by the use of forklift./liliRead, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform any furnace operation./liliEnsure holding furnaces maintain at 100% operational level at all times./liliEnsure remelt furnaces are maintained at 100% operational level at all times./liliVisually inspect scrap hoppers for defected material and dispose of according to established procedures./liliAccurately enter work orders into QAD./liliLearn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes which includes cross training as required by business and manpower demands./liliProperly completes daily paperwork./liliWork cooperatively with others in a team environment./liliMaintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations./liliWork safely around and/or while operating heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery./liliWork overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises./liliRegularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities./liliPerform Job Specific Training Form duties if available./liliOther duties are assigned from time-to-time./li/ulpAdditional Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliComplies with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs./liliPerforms duties in compliance quality, safety, and manufacturing requirements./liliIs capable of diagnosing and performing minor repairs on furnaces./liliExhibit Companies Core Values./liliAbility to work in other classifications or departments as needed./liliParticipate in continuous improvement activities./liliFollow all standardized work instructions including quality inspection processes./liliCommunicate and exchange problem areas with supervisors and fellow coworkers./li/ulpJob Specifications:/ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential and additional duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
