Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist to join the Fargo VA Medical Center. This full-time contract position involves providing high-quality clinical and surgical care for veterans, working within a designated urology clinic at a 24-hour VA facility. The ideal candidate is a skilled, compassionate physician dedicated to veteran healthcare.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a urology outpatient clinic (daily consults & procedures; approx. 90% clinical).
• Perform inpatient rounds for urological patients.
• Carry out a wide variety of urologic procedures, including but not limited to:
• Cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal, ureter, transurethral prostate/bladder cancer surgery.
• Lymphatic, abdominal, prostatic abscess, prostate, urethra, ureter, epididymis/spermatic cord, bladder, kidney, penis, scrotum, and testes procedures.
• Endoscopy, holmium laser, ESWL, fluoroscopy use.
• Conduct specialty exams (compensation & pension, Agent Orange, etc. for urological conditions).
• Expected schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM4:00 PM CST (no call or holiday coverage).
• Maintain timely completion of patient consults per VA clinic standards.

Qualifications

• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any US state/territory; North Dakota license preferred.
• Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
• BLS/ACLS (or equivalent) certification required and maintained throughout contract.
• Successful completion of an approved Urology residency (minimum 3 years in Urological surgery).
• Technically proficient in English (spoken & written).
• Documentation of up-to-date CME and credentials per VA guidelines required.
• Must meet VHA credentialing and privileging standards; no history of restricted/suspended/revoked medical licenses considered.

Clinical Excellence & Compliance

• Adherence to VA and facility rules/by-laws, meeting or exceeding current national standards.
• Coordination of care and referrals as necessary for optimal patient outcomes.
• Responsible for attendance tracking and reporting per contract guidelines.
