TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care required License: Current and valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival Description: This is a brand new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit for a growing facility. Educational opportunities available to travelers include training on various medical conditions. Patient types include Sepsis, Cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and Pneumonia. Occasionally, the unit will see post-operative overflow patients such as Total Joints (Knees, Hips, Shoulders) and GI/Abdominal surgeries (Hemicolectomies, Bowel Resection, etc.). The patient ratio at night is 1 RN to 6 patients. There are 2 CNAs per shift, unless the census does not call for it. Wound management skills required, including care for JP drains and wound vacs. Experience with Hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA, and pain management is essential. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse and in-house phlebotomy. RN draw for CVL/PICC/Midline is available, with an IV/VAT team accessible during day hours. Charting is done using an EMR system. Travelers may float to any Medical/Surgical area within the hospital. Weekend rotation is mandatory, with a schedule of working 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. Travelers may request time off, limited to one weekend of RTO per 13-week contract, with up to 7 days allowed. Holiday expectations include working 2 out of 3 holidays. Scrub color required is pewter, and t-shirts must be gray, white, or black with a designated monogram. Badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
