Step into a pivotal role supporting K-5 students in a self-contained classroom and make a profound impact as a Special Education Teacher. This on-site, contract assignment is ideal for travel professionals and begins as soon as possible, extending through May 26, 2027. You’ll work a steady Monday through Friday schedule, 7:40 am to 3:20 pm, supporting a small, close-knit group of 12 elementary students with a range of needs—including autism. A dedicated paraprofessional will be there to assist, ensuring you have the support needed to deliver quality instruction.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Educator Certification (must provide copy of license upon interview/request)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with elementary-age students
• Strong skills in managing a self-contained classroom environment
• Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with autism and experience assisting with toileting needs
• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt individualized educational plans for each student
• Deliver engaging, tailored instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Collaborate with a paraprofessional to provide cohesive, supportive classroom management
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress
• Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional learning
