Mission Support Specialist

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Human Capital and Training Division, located in Washington, D.C. and Ashburn, VA. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Carrying out projects and performing studies and projects to address substantive technical issues and problems characterized by complex, controversial, and sensitive matters that contain interrelated issues in managing the workforce of USBP. Implementing policies relating to the sector management policy, procedures, and other matters affecting USBP administrative programs with senior leadership's approval. Developing and coordinating hiring plans by obtaining input from program officials. Resolving problems and implementing program improvements as required by developing new and modified workforce management methods, approaches, and procedures for delivering effective services to customers. Generating and maintaining various reports, thereby providing updated information for CBP's internal Table of Organization (TO) tracker and monitoring tickler reports and staffing tables.
