We are looking for a highly motivated self starter with a positive, results oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will excel in a deadline sensitive environment, consistently delivering efficient and effective outcomes while fostering teamwork across the organization.This position will be engaged as a member of the corporate accounting, reporting, and planning team and has the potential for professional growth and advancement in the intermediate and long-term future. This role offers the opportunity to further develop accounting and reporting skills, as well as financial planning and analysis skills, in a unique and dynamic industry.Responsibilities:Process and code accounts payable invoices to support timely and accurate vendor paymentsReview and reconcile AMEX transactions, uploading activity accurately into the accounting systemPerform general ledger (GL) accounting activities, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and quarterly expense accrualsPrepare and maintain amortization schedules for prepaid and capitalized costs, and complete related balance sheet reconciliationsTrack receivables, work-in-process (WIP), and deposit activity for portfolio companies, providing timely financial information to deal teamsUpdate interest schedules for monthly ACH paymentsPrepare weekly balance sheet recaps and assist with variance analysisReconcile check run data to vendor records on a routine basis to confirm accurate payment processingAssist with monthly and quarterly close processes and contribute to process improvement effortsSupport SEC reporting activities, including preparation of Forms 10-K and 10-QSupport SBA reporting requirements, including Forms 468 and 1031Prepare internal management reports and assist with financial analysisAssist with the preparation of investor and analyst presentation materials and supporting schedulesReview vendor data periodically to support annual Form 1099 preparation and distributionSupport internal and external audit requests by gathering and organizing required documentationComplete special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned by managementParticipate in initiatives to enhance accounting systems and improve process efficiencySkills/ Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred (Master's in Accounting or MBA is a plus)Must exhibit a strong work ethic and be willing and able to complete projects accurately under tight deadlinesShould be detail orientedShould exhibit critical thinking qualities and problem-solving abilitiesShould exhibit strong organizational skillsShould exhibit strong excel skillsWhy join Main Street's growing team?Unique and differentiated lower middle market investment strategySupportive and dynamic team-based work environmentGreat compensation and benefitsCompany Benefits:At Main Street, we're committed to creating an environment where our employees can thrive both professionally and personally.
