Title: Staff Accountant - Reconciliation Project

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Compensation: $30.00-$33.00/hour

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.


Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days onsite (Tuesday-Thursday) during the first two months, transitioning to primarily remote with approximately one week onsite during monthly close.

Skillset / Experience:


We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a large-scale account reconciliation and process standardization project. This position will focus on high-volume, straightforward account reconciliations and supporting schedules as the organization prepares for a OneStream reconciliation implementation.


The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on reconciliation experience, solid Excel skills, and the ability to accurately work through a high volume of transactions while following established accounting processes.


Responsibilities:

• Perform bank and cash reconciliations
• Complete general ledger account reconciliations
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Perform accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) reconciliations
• Complete intercompany reconciliations
• Process accounting transactions and supporting entries
• Prepare and maintain continuity schedules
• Download supporting financial data from the ERP system into Excel templates
• Upload completed reconciliation schedules into OneStream
• Attach supporting documentation and PDFs within OneStream
• Research and identify account discrepancies
• Assist with cleanup and standardization of reconciliations prior to system implementation
• Maintain accurate and organized supporting documentation
• Follow established reconciliation processes and project procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous Staff Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, or similar accounting experience
• Strong hands-on experience with general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience with bank/cash, AP, AR, and intercompany reconciliations
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable performing repetitive, high-volume accounting work
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow established processes and procedures
• Dependable, hardworking, and able to work independently once trained
• ERP experience strongly preferred
• OneStream experience is a plus but not required

This is not a technical accounting position and does not require CPA-level expertise. The primary focus is accurate, high-volume reconciliation work across cash, bank, intercompany, AP, AR, and other low-judgment accounts.
