Assistant Accountant - Japanese Bilingual

A Japanese company seeks a bilingual Assistant Accountant .
Location : New York, NY Onsite
Pay rate $26-28/hour DOE
Work hours: M-F 9:00am-5:00pm with 45 mins lunch / Occasional overtime
Position Summary
A Japanese company is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant Accountant to support daily accounting operations. This role focuses on accurate data entry, transaction processing, and maintaining organized financial records. Prior accounting experience is not required, but experience in accounting or bookkeeping is a plus.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable processing
• Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
• Identify and report discrepancies for correction
• Support routine accounting tasks and basic month-end close activities
• Communicate with customers, vendors and internal staff to resolve issues
• Maintain and update accounting records and documentation
• Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems Qualifications
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field (accounting/finance preferred)
• Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Teams, and email software
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese
• Ability to share information within the team and a cooperative attitude Application Form
