Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to oversee daily dispatch and distribution operations, ensuring shipments are allocated, processed and delivered efficiently and on time. The successful candidate will supervise the dispatch team, coordinate transport activities and maintain high standards of service, safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dispatch operations, ensuring shipments are processed and dispatched within agreed deadlines.
• Lead, motivate and manage the dispatch team, allocating workloads and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams, drivers, transport providers and customer service to ensure smooth operations.
• Plan and optimise delivery schedules, vehicle utilisation and route allocation.
• Ensure accurate preparation of dispatch documentation, delivery notes and shipment records.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays, delivery issues and operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and ensure all system updates are completed promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, company policies and transport regulations.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity and service levels, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Handle customer and internal escalations professionally and effectively.
• Support staff training, performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in dispatch, transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good knowledge of dispatch processes, transport coordination and delivery scheduling.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
• Good working knowledge of transport or warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
