About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 or 26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Must have RN license in hand for Auto Offer Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP Must-Have: Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge. Every other weekend coverage is required. Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Must have license in hand for Auto Offer. All time off requests must be included in the submission. Description: The Labor and Delivery RN will provide care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. This unit operates with high-risk deliveries and averages 7 daily deliveries, with peaks up to 14 patients. Responsibilities include monitoring fetal heart rates, administering medications, and assisting with labor and delivery processes. The nurse will support breastfeeding and provide discharge instructions to new parents. Communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services are essential. Nurses must have skills in labor management, neonatal resuscitation, and pain assessment and management. The position entails a commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to navigate high-stress situations effectively. The RN may float to similar units as necessary to meet patient care needs.
