Regional Vice President Sales, SLED

Role Summary Wiz is seeking a visionary, high‑impact 2nd‑line sales executive to lead, scale, and command our expansion into the State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) market. Reporting directly to the VP of Public Sector Sales, the Regional Vice President (RVP) will serve as the executive leader responsible for defining and executing the overarching macro go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy across all state agencies, municipal governments, and K‑12/Higher Education institutions nationally. In this role, you will lead a multilayered organization composed of regional first‑line Sales Directors, Enterprise Account Executives, and specialized technical teams. You will own the SLED theater’s P&L, drive exponential ARR growth, and cultivate executive‑level relationships with State CIOs, CISOs, University System Tech Leaders, and premier regional channel partners. Responsibilities Scale & lead a high‑performing SLED sales theater, providing executive leadership to regional first‑line managers and senior account executives while fostering a culture of operational excellence, predictability, and relentless execution. Architect macro GTM & regional territory strategy: design and execute a comprehensive, long‑term theater strategy that expands the Wiz footprint across the disparate SLED landscape, driving territory optimization, talent acquisition, and market penetration models. Drive executive state & higher‑ed relationships: develop and anchor critical, trust‑based partnerships with high‑level public sector leaders. Maximize cooperative & regional procurement: spearhead the theater’s procurement strategy by securing and optimizing key SLED contract vehicles and cooperative purchasing agreements. Orchestrate the SLED partner ecosystem: fuel market expansion by driving joint‑GTM partnerships with major regional value‑added resellers, tier‑1 system integrators, and cloud provider partners to intercept state‑level modernization funds. Executive deal sponsorship: act as the executive sponsor for high‑value, complex transactions; step into strategic, multi‑million‑dollar state procurement cycles and RFPs. Cross‑functional alignment & advocacy: collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, legal, security compliance, and marketing to align product roadmaps and field resources with public sector demands. P&L and operational command: own forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and operational metrics for the entire SLED theater, utilizing data‑driven insights to consistently optimize performance. Qualifications Elite 2nd‑line leadership experience: 12+ years of enterprise software sales experience within the public sector market, with at least 5+ years of second‑line management experience. Proven scale record: a verified track record of scaling a SLED theater from early footprint to $50M+ ARR, consistently exceeding quotas. Mastery of public procurement & funding: in‑depth understanding of SLED RFP/RFI processes, E‑Rate funding lifecycles, state budget calendars, and multi‑award contract vehicles. Cloud & security fluency: deep domain expertise in cloud security (CNAPP, CSPM, vulnerability management) and a robust understanding of compliance frameworks critical to public sector infrastructure. Elite regional relationship capital: an active, highly respected executive network across state IT leadership, university system executives, and top‑tier public sector channel partners. Strategic vision with execution grit: exceptional ability to conceptualize long‑term, abstract market opportunities and translate them into actionable, metrics‑driven execution plans for regional first‑line leaders. Public sector‑driven communication: superior communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to pitch highly technical cloud‑native security concepts to public officials, procurement boards, and academic executives. Academic: Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred). Federal Roles Only Candidates must meet EAR part 772 and ITAR 120.15 definition of a U.S. person and that they reside in the contiguous United States. Compensation + Benefits Compensation for this full‑time position includes base salary + bonus + equity + benefits. The US base salary range is $200,500 — $233,500 USD.
