Part Time House Manager

About the Role Part‑time House Manager (17.5 hours/week) reporting to the Associate Director of Front of House Operations. The role blends remote administrative planning (40%) and on‑site event execution (60%) within Berklee’s Concert Operations team. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact during assigned events, managing crowd control, troubleshooting patron requests, and serving as liaison for production teams, artists, and security. Build detailed show info sheets, manage ticketing scanners, coordinate student usher schedules, and evaluate front‑of‑house procedures to suggest creative process improvements. Supervise and guide the student usher staff on a per‑show basis, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and professional growth environment. Coordinate venue accessibility layouts for patrons, ensure compliance with ADA standards, manage facility safety regulations, and secure facilities before and after events. Maintain flexibility to work a seasonal schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the academic performance calendar. Required Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in a guest experience or front‑of‑house role in a performing‑arts or theater environment, with some supervisory experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of diplomacy when interacting with touring personnel, promoters, and the public. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to remain calm, focused, and solution‑oriented under pressure. Tech‑savvy with proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office and a strong interest in learning event systems such as Smartsheet, Etix, FileMaker, or When‑to‑Work. Absolute flexibility to work a seasonal schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays.
