Your Role in the Community

• Carrying out thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic procedures, and creating individualized care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health issues in collaboration with physicians or independently (depending on your credentials)
• Providing education to patients and families about prevention, wellness, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies within your practice guidelines
• Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care management

• Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)

Qualifications Needed

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications Required

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in California
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or its equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to achieve these within 90 days)
