Role Description The Category Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lehi, UT (Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area). As Category Manager, you will be a key driver of growth for one or more major hardware product categories at Chirp. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders on category strategy and roadmap while owning the end-to-end execution — from product development and refinement to cross‑functional delivery and ongoing category performance. Day‑to‑day tasks include analyzing market and customer data, tracking category KPIs, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as procurement, sales, marketing, and operations to drive category growth. The Category Manager will be an integral part of the development team, support sourcing decisions, and ensure product availability and competitive pricing. This role will also collaborate closely with Marketing on campaigns and packaging, and contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen category performance and overall customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for a high‑functioning product leader who excels at shaping vision and strategy into shipped products and measurable results. Core Responsibilities Category Ownership & Product Strategy Serve as the primary owner and expert for your assigned product category. Partner with the VP and executive team on category strategy, competitive positioning, pricing, and long‑term vision. Conduct ongoing market, competitive, and user research to identify opportunities and threats. Define and maintain a clear product roadmap and prioritization framework for the category. Product Development Champion the user experience, align the cross‑functional team, and translate consumer insights into meaningful and actionable project scope. Lead the development and continuous improvement of physical products within the category, working closely with engineering, industrial design, sourcing, and operations. Own product requirements, specifications, and launch readiness. Ensure all products meet high standards for quality, safety, and efficacy. Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery Own projects from concept through launch. Manage the full product lifecycle including post‑launch optimization, refreshes, and end‑of‑life transitions. Coordinate effectively with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer support to ensure on‑time, on‑scope, high‑quality delivery. Proactively identify and remove blockers to maintain velocity and execution excellence. Identify and evaluate new product ideas, line extensions, and ecosystem opportunities within the category. Be a full participant and part‑owner of Chirp’s innovation process. Contribute to broader innovation efforts, including integration of digital/app experiences. Monitor emerging products and trends in pain relief, recovery, and wellness to keep Chirp’s offerings competitive and differentiated. Key Success Metrics Successful on‑time delivery of roadmap initiatives Improvement in category revenue, margin, and customer outcomes (pain relief metrics, retention, satisfaction, return rates) Strong cross‑functional collaboration and team impact Qualifications 4+ years of experience in product development, phase‑gate process, and manufacturing. Strong category management experience, including category strategy development and performance optimization. Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data‑informed decisions. Sales acumen, including understanding of pricing, promotions, and revenue‑driving initiatives within product categories. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels. Proficiency in spreadsheet and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, BI platforms). Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA degree preferred. Ability to work on‑site in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area and thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
