Onboarding Specialist / HR Assistant

The Onboarding Specialist / HR Assistant is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the new hire onboarding experience while supporting the Human Resources department with daily administrative tasks. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced dealership environment. Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for all new hires. Prepare and process new hire paperwork and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements. Conduct new hire orientation and present company policies, benefits, and culture. Verify completion of I-9 documentation and E-Verify requirements. Process background checks, motor vehicle reports, and pre-employment screenings. Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth first‑day experience. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and HR‑related questions. Maintain accurate employee files and HRIS records. Support recruiting efforts by scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates. Assist with employee events, training sessions, and recognition programs. Generate reports and maintain confidential HR documentation. Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed. Qualifications 2+ years of administrative or HR experience preferred. Previous onboarding or recruiting experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of Google Workspace. Experience with HRIS systems is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Professional, friendly, and customer‑service oriented.
