Paint Prep TechnicianAs a Paint Prep Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every vehicle meets CarMax's quality standards for quality and appearance. In this fast-paced, hands-on environment, you'll prepare and recondition vehicles so they meet CarMax quality standards. We'll provide the tools, training, and support you need to excel and grow your career in automotive reconditioning.Role ResponsibilitiesPerform expert paint retouching, post-paint finishing, waxing, and buffing to restore vehicles to CarMax quality standardsExecute dent repair, masking, sanding, and grinding for bodywork repairsRepair or replace small plastic and trim components to ensure full functionalityCollaborate with team members to meet production goals and deliver exceptional resultsFollow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.Required QualificationsHands-on experience in masking, sanding, grinding, and applying automotive paintStrong manual dexterity and physical stamina, including ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periodsExceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipValid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles safelyThe hourly rate for this position is:$24.15 - $36.84Commissions:This position is eligible for commission.Benefits:Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commissioned are eligible:To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.
