RN - PACU

PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the specialty and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their conditions continually.
• Administer medications and perform necessary interventions as directed.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery.

Schedule

The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The schedule includes working from 10 AM to 10:30 PM, with the expectation of being available for two major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the PACU or critical care setting.
• Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS Certification is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system is preferred.

This position is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented RN looking to enhance their skills in a dynamic environment while caring for patients with higher acuity needs, including those undergoing thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases.
