Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced acute care setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emergency care. The nurse will float between like units within their skill set and must hold relevant certifications. At least one year of nursing experience and proficiency with Epic charting are required. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and administer medications as prescribed.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide emergency nursing care in a Level II trauma center environment.
• Float between similar units as needed to support patient care demands.
• Document patient care and clinical information accurately using Epic electronic health records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a Level I stroke and cardiac center or trauma facility.
• Additional specialty certifications related to emergency nursing.

Special Considerations:

• Floating between like units within skill set is required.
• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• Travel contract candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Pending nursing licenses accepted with expectation of quick start.
• No on-call requirements.
• Return to office (RTO) restrictions prefer less than 7 days.

Scheduling:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week.
• 13-week assignment duration.
• Block scheduling is not available.
