Assistant Manufacturing Controller

Successful, profitable automotive supplier is seeking an Assistant Manufacturing Controller to assist with site closing and the budgeting and forecasting process while leading the cost accounting process and developing a small team. This position will report to the Site Controller. Daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the site closing process, including journal entries, fixed assets, cost and analysis
• Partnering with various departments to establish and monitor in-house budgets and forecasts
• Completing actual versus budget analysis
• Along with the Financial Analyst, evaluating standard cost, monitoring cost and making any needed adjustments
• Partnering with all facets of production, materials and engineering in order to ensure accurate product costing
• Communicating with cross-functional leadership on expense and capital equipment projects
• Completing weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting
• Participating in meetings related to cost and inventory management
• Supporting operations with expense and inventory tracking
• Overseeing multiple finance and analysis projects at a time, while completing them in a timely manner
• Improving financial processes, measurables and KPIs
• Backing up the Site Controller on an as-needed basis
• Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS for the Assistant Manufacturing Controller:

• A bachelor's degree is required, ideally in finance or accounting
• At least 3-5 years in a similar finance or accounting position
• Experience working in manufacturing environments
• Experience supervising others
• Experience contributing to the month-end closing process
• Experience contributing to the budgeting and forecasting processes
• A strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• Certifications
• Automotive supplier experience

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Lexington, Ohio area; there is not a relocation package available at this time.
