Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Receive admitted patients from the Emergency Department and complete comprehensive Admission Assessments in a fast-paced Clinical Decision / Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced throughput
• Perform Medication Reconciliation and initiate acute care orders to reduce overall patient length of stay
• Provide step-down and med-surg level care for patients presenting with a wide variety of diagnoses, maintaining patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) or 1:6 (Med-Surg)
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR and operate Baxter IV pumps as required
• Float to other units within scope of skill set as needed, and assist with holiday coverage on a rotating basis
• Uphold a strong commitment to patient safety, family-centered care, and a positive team environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and/or Step-Down (PCU) settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, quick-turnover environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to take on charge responsibilities
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Familiarity with Baxter IV pump operation and telemetry monitoring
