BMS Console Operator

The BAS Console Operator is responsible for monitoring building automation systems (BAS) to ensure all equipment operates within defined parameters and for handling alarms, virtual tours, and documentation across multiple sites. Responsibilities Monitor alarm screens of various BMS systems. Conduct virtual tours to identify equipment operating outside design parameters or schedules. Collaborate with site mechanics, BMS engineers, and HVAC technicians to troubleshoot equipment and control power for maintenance. Dispatch and monitor alarms across BMS platforms. Perform Virtual Energy Tours using site BMS systems. Document all BAS changes through the Electronic Document system. Notify end users during off‑hours about alarms on scientific equipment. Review pass‑down emails and shift handovers for continuity. Check Corrigo for open priority work orders. Review alarm screens and electronic white board entries from the previous 24 hours. Ensure all virtual tours are completed and records are maintained. Confirm that training requirements are met on schedule. Simultaneously monitor and control multiple BAS systems. Mentor new operators on BAS review and alarm troubleshooting. Draft and send emails regarding shift issues and alarms. Escalate site BMS alarms to customers, building managers, BAS directors, engineers, or SMEs. Respond directly to major incidents impacting the site(s). Prioritize critical alarms during site outages. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. High School Diploma or Equivalent. General understanding of building automation systems, with emphasis on Siemens Desigo/Insight, Honeywell EBI, WebCtrl, Autologic, etc. Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment controls and alarm systems in industrial or commercial settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office Suite programs. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and learn quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with customers. Excellent multitasking ability, both independently and as part of a team. Capability to sit for extended periods. Preferred: Trade school education with HVAC emphasis. Preferred: Specialized training or certification in BAS or HVAC systems. Preferred: Prior experience using a CMMS. Compensation and Location Estimated salary: $83,428 – $83,428 USD per year. Location: On‑site – MountainView, CA. This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
