Avionics Quality Control Inspector – 1278 East Alton, IL, USA Full Time, On-site Responsibilities Maintain West Star Aviation’s quality standards by inspecting technician work, performing "ok to close", and auditing. Ensure proper sign-offs in Corridor as part of the inspection process. Participate in daily review meetings. Assist with airframe inspections and follow up with all departments to get steps signed off, inspected, and closed so airframe squawks can be completed. Help manage Equipment Removal and Installation Log. Assist QA Department with log research issues to help clear items that are in question. Daily contact at aircraft with Team Leaders to ensure quality standards are met. Maintain customer‑oriented work habits. Effectively and clearly communicate (speak, write, read) in English. Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. A&P License or Repairman Certificate required. Inspection Authorization (IA) rating recommended. Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not required). Familiarity with all facets of manuals required to maintain aircraft. Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations. Minimum 3 years turbine aircraft inspection experience with return‑to‑service authority. Customer service experience recommended. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with specific deadlines and time constraints. Detail oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy in data entry and documentation. Reliable transportation for daily commute. Physical Requirements Lift and carry at least 25 lbs. Bend, reach, and stoop around aircraft. Sit at a desk and/or computer for extended periods. Routine walking throughout the workplace. Compensation The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $32 and $48, varying by location, experience, and performance. Additional compensation includes a shift differential for alternate shifts, a semi‑annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
